How to take Virtual Tour pictures (photos)
Taking photos for Virtual Tours is easy. Here is a simple checklist to help you take photos for virtual tours.
How to shoot photo’s for Virtual Tours:
- Set to lower resolution (1024 X 768)
- Always turn the camera to the right (to take Vertical pictures).
- Always shoot left to right.
- Stay put. You must finish in the same place that you started
- If you pick a corner you can not go to the opposite corner to
finish. If you start in a corner you will have a 90 degree shot, center
of a wall will be a 180 degree shot and from the center of a large room
or outside 360 degrees (most shots will be 90 or 180). - Overlap 15 - 20 percent.
- Turn on all lights fireplaces etc. when shooting indoors (Make sure you turn them off when you leave).
- Shoot your photos during the day!
- Always have flash on. If a flash is not an option do not shoot
directly into sunlight or windows with direct light. - People, dogs, and cats should be out of sight.
- All rooms in a house will not be panoramic so Still pictures are great for small areas.
- Between each room, take a picture of like your foot or hand, to separate each room.
- Don’t take 360 degree photos in rooms, instead stand in a corner or on a wall and take photos of everything you see.
